The “Live After 5” free summer concert series was introduced during the summer of 1998. This event is designed to promote Uptown Greenwood as an area offering cultural, entertainment, and recreational experiences to the entire Greenwood community, outlying communities, neighboring cities and towns, and visitors and tourists. Uptown Greenwood, the Greenwood Partnership Alliance, and the City of Greenwood partner together to host the yearly series. The Uptown Greenwood Pro Cycling Challenge is a premier cycling event that is part of the USA CRITS 2007 Championship Criterium Series. For one evening, Main Street Greenwood is transformed into a world class criterium race course featuring over 100 of the best cycling professionals in the world. A criterium race combines the excitement of high speed cycling with the appeal of Uptown Greenwood's small town charm. The race is run on short laps through Uptown offering spectators the opportunity to watch Olympians, World and National Champions up close as they ride at top speeds for up to two hours.
